Repair café

Bin it or fix it?  Repairing  broken and faulty things for a new lease of life.

The Repair Café is an existing organization that has run very successful events in our community. Its main mission is to help people to repair broken and faulty things and prevent them from being thrown away. Volunteers give up their time to help members of the public to repair their own items, and learn how to problem solve and make repairs for themselves.

KEY INFO
We are open on the second Saturday of every month 10am-1pm at The Kiln, opposite New Look/Scrapless.
We repair electrical items, clothing and textiles, leather goods and tents, and occasionally other household items. We also sharpen scissors, knives and garden tools.
We cannot repair large white goods, microwaves, clockwork mechanisms, ceramics or jewelry.
We operate on a donation basis and ask that you consider the amount of time taken to do your repair, not just the value of the item. Donations help pay for rent and upkeep at the hall.
We may ask you to bring a part with you if a part needs replacing.
We ask that to prevent excess waiting times you book in advance by emailing repaircafebh@gmail.com or messaging this page.
We ask that you stay with your item where possible so you can see how it is repaired and how long it takes – we’ve been a bit relaxed with this recently to reduce the number of people in the space through covid19 but we are generally a repair café not a drop and repair service.
Refreshments available.
